Field Trip FAQ’s

What is a 'teacher-guided' tour?

Our fall field trips are teacher/chaperone guided meaning as the teacher or chaperone you are leading your students around the farm. Groups will be given a time to get on the trolley to go to the pumpkin patch and other guideline for going about the farm. Groups are allowed to move about the farm as you please either in your class/group or in smaller groups. All groups are required to be in the presence of a teacher or chaperone at all times.

We do require you to have the teacher/chaperone form signed and filled out to hand in to us when you arrive. The purpose of this form is for teachers and chaperones to know and acknowledge their role and responsibilities while attending Pinehaven Farm for a Field Trip.

The parent consent form that we provide can be used if you do not have your own. If you have your own, we do not need a copy.

The Farm generally remains open during periods of light rain and/or snow. With that in mind, all activities are outside so please instruct your students to dress for the weather, no matter what weather is being predicted. If there is a high probability of heavy storms on the day of your visit, then you may request to reschedule your field trip for another day up to 24-hours in advance of your visit. Please email us with weather related requests to reschedule.

During fall field trip hours of 9am -2pm, there will not be food or drinks available for purchase. We do have a candy store that is open select days after 12pm, but selection is limited to candy, snacks, and drinks. We also do not have a drinking fountain on site, so please plan accordingly.

A child’s season pass may not be used for a classroom field trip, Monday through Friday, 9am to 2:00pm. This is because the cost of the field trip is for lessons and takeaways like pumpkins and food for the animals.

Siblings of your student may attend the field trip if they have your permission. If they are age 3 and over they may pay separately with the parent at the Admissions Barn if you prefer not to include them in your count. Ages 2 and under are free, and will not receive a pumpkin.
